Welcome to National Harbor

The 2027 NASPA Annual Conference brings content, connection, and convening to one of the most dynamic waterfront destinations on the East Coast. National Harbor sits right on the Potomac River in Maryland, just minutes from Washington, D.C., and it delivers the kind of backdrop that makes a conference feel like an experience.

This 300-acre destination is home to over 160 shops, 40 restaurants, an iconic observation wheel, and some of the best sunsets in the D.C. area. The main promenade runs along the water. The convention center is steps from restaurants, public art, and the river itself. When sessions end, there's no shortage of places to go

Get on the Water

Water taxis connect National Harbor directly to Old Town Alexandria and The Wharf in D.C., making it easy to explore the region without a car. Or stay close and ride the Capital Wheel, 180 feet above the Potomac with views of D.C.'s monuments and the Virginia skyline. It runs every day and every night. Sunset timing is worth planning around.

Find the Art

The Awakening, a massive cast iron sculpture of a giant emerging from the earth, sits near the Potomac shoreline and is one of those things you have to see in person to fully appreciate. Public art is woven throughout National Harbor's streets and plazas, so even a walk between dinner and your hotel has something worth stopping for.

  • Things to do at National Harbor

Eat Well

More than 40 restaurants call National Harbor home, from waterfront fine dining to quick bites between sessions. Maryland crab cakes show up on more than a few menus and are worth the detour. Most spots have outdoor seating on the water when the weather cooperates.

Getting Here and Around

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is the closest major airport. National Harbor is walkable once you're there. Water taxis and rideshare make it easy to get around the broader region.

Where to Stay

AC27 is headquartered at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, one of the largest convention hotels on the East Coast and the anchor of the National Harbor waterfront. Room block details and conference rates open this fall.
