Pre-Conference Workshops

Pre-Conference Workshops
Deep, Applied Learning Before Annual Conference Begins
Pre-Conference Workshops are proposed and led by NASPA members through the Call for Programs, then selected through peer review. These are working sessions, not overviews. You'll leave with something you can put to use on your campus, not just a set of notes.
Each workshop is built for depth. Presenters design their sessions to move past introducing a topic and into applying it, so you spend your time practicing, troubleshooting, and building a plan you can carry home. If you're looking for a session to skim, this isn't it. If you're looking for a session that changes how you do your work, register.
How Workshops are Organized
Both formats include coffee breaks throughout the day. All workshops break for lunch at 12:00 p.m. Lunch is not included in registration. Add-on lunch options are available for purchase if you'd rather stay on-site than head out.
Offsite Experiences
A small number of workshops take place offsite, giving you the chance to learn directly from institutions and communities in the National Harbor and DC area. NASPA coordinates transportation for every offsite workshop, so you only need to show up. Offsite workshops are marked clearly at registration.
Pricing
Pricing follows a tiered structure. Register early for the best rate.
| Format | Early | Regular | Late |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full-Day Workshop | $105 | $125 | $145 |
| Half-Day Workshop | $60 | $75 | $90 |
Registration
The full workshop lineup will be announced in September. Registration opens October 1.
Space is limited, and workshops fill quickly, so don't wait once the lineup drops.

What You Can Expect
This year's lineup spans every career stage, from new professionals building foundational skills to VPSAs and senior leaders working through executive-level challenges. Whatever stage you're at, there's a workshop built for the work you're doing right now.
Topically, the lineup is just as wide. You'll find sessions on leadership and strategic planning, crisis management and behavioral intervention, AI and technology in practice, student success and retention, assessment and data storytelling, career development, wellness and burnout, and work centered on specific student populations and communities. Whether you're looking to sharpen a specific skill or rethink how your division approaches a challenge, there's a workshop built for it.
Every session is designed the same way: less lecture, more practice. You'll work through frameworks, case studies, and tools alongside presenters and peers who are solving the same problems you are, so you leave with something concrete, not just something interesting.
