Welcome. You're in the right place.
Every year, more than 30% of the people walking into the NASPA Annual Conference are doing it for the first time. That means you're not alone in figuring out where to go, who to talk to, or what to expect. This page is here to change that, before you ever set foot in National Harbor.
What is the NASPA Annual Conference?
The Annual Conference is the largest gathering in student affairs. Each year, thousands of professionals from across higher education come together for four days of learning, relationship-building, and collective investment in this field. This year, we're headed to National Harbor, Maryland.
It's a lot to take in the first time. Here's how we think about it.
Content
Hundreds of education sessions, keynotes, pre-conference institutes, and research presentations span every corner of student affairs practice. Housing, conduct, career services, health and wellness, DEI, student engagement, enrollment, and beyond. Whether you're early in your career or leading a division, there's programming built for where you are and where you want to go. You won't be able to attend everything, and that's the point. You get to build the conference that's right for you.
Connection
Some of the most important conversations at the Annual Conference happen in hallways between sessions. This is where relationships in this field are made and deepened. You'll meet colleagues doing work like yours at institutions nothing like yours. You'll find mentors, reconnect with graduate school friends, and discover collaborators you didn't know you needed. Show up open to it and it will happen.
Convening
There's something that happens when the field gathers in one place that can't be replicated in a webinar or a regional meeting. The energy of being in a room with thousands of people who chose student affairs, who understand the stakes of this work, and who keep showing up anyway. You leave with more than session notes. You leave reminded of why this work matters and who you're doing it with.
