Session Room Details
General Interest Sessions, Scholarly Paper sessions, and Pre-conference Workshops will take place in standard session rooms. All rooms will have a podium at the front of the room equipped with one handheld microphone, and one head table with three chairs. Presenters who requested a panel setup in their submission will have one additional handheld microphone to facilitate the panel format.
Each room will have a screen and LCD projector with an HDMI connection. Session rooms will be equipped to play sound through the connected laptop. Presenters must bring their own laptop and any necessary adapters.
Wifi is not guaranteed, so all presentation media (including slide decks and videos) should be downloaded locally in advance or saved on a flash drive.
Constituent Group Sponsored Sessions
Constituent Groups allow NASPA members to discuss topics relevant to their careers, identities, and interests in higher education. As part of the program review and selection process, Constituent Groups have the opportunity to consider General Interest Session submissions related to their group’s content area for sponsorship.
Presenters of sponsored sessions were notified of their sponsorship status in their program decision email. These sponsored sessions will be highlighted as part of the Constituent Group’s overall programming in Kansas City. If your session was selected for sponsorship, congratulations!
Poster Sessions
Please begin preparing to design your poster. Presenters are responsible for printing their poster and transporting it to the conference. You may use a design or branding of your choosing.
The poster boards provided by the convention center will be approximately 8 feet wide by 4 feet tall. Please note that your poster does not need to fill the entire board - it just needs to fit within these dimensions. You may set up your poster on the assigned board in the Exhibit Hall on Sunday, March 8. Thumbtacks will be provided.
Poster sessions will be presented twice during the conference on both Monday and Tuesday mornings. During these dedicated presentation times, attendees will visit the Exhibit Hall to meet presenters and discuss their work. We recommend preparing a 2-3 minute overview of your poster and being ready for conversation and questions. Posters will remain on display throughout the conference.
Scholarly Paper Sessions
Each 50-minute Scholarly Papers session includes two papers, facilitated by a discussant who will read both papers in advance of the conference. Your paper will be paired with another based on a central theme.
Your presentation should be about 15 minutes long and focus on how your findings inform student affairs practice. After both authors present their papers, the discussant will facilitate a dialogue between the authors and attendees connecting your research to real-world applications.
Please begin preparing to submit your full paper to your discussant by January 26. This timeline ensures your discussant has time to review all assigned papers in preparation for their role. If you’re unable to meet this deadline, your discussant won’t be able to prepare effectively, and you will be asked to withdraw your presentation.
After all presenters have confirmed their participation, you will receive your discussant’s contact information. Please upload your full paper using this form.
SA Series
All SA Series presentations will take place on Monday afternoon in the Exhibit Hall D, which is also the mainstage used for keynote speakers. Each SA Series presenter will take the stage for about 10 minutes, with transitions between speakers facilitated by an MC.
SA Series presenters will receive additional details directly from the SA Series Subcommittee of the Conference Leadership Committee, who will provide support and coaching as you prepare your SA Series presentation.
